Just so you know, I’m alive and well in St Petersburg, as the above photo proves. I’ve been here a couple of days already. I just moved in with my host family yesterday afternoon after being in the dorms. I will write a longish post sometime soon about what I’m up to. For now here is what St Petersburg looks like in the winter. This is the Neva and you can see the Peter and Paul fortress over there to the left, for people who might remember my pics from the summer. Quite a different view, eh?
This is the view out my window. And yes, that is what Soviet block housing looks like.
